On our way back from the Fumbally Cafe, we stopped into Antoinette's Bakery - a completely gluten-free bakery with plenty of egg-free, soy-free and dairy-free options. They offer everything from vegan doughnuts to cupcakes and cookies.
I was in heaven.
I used to be an absolute dessert-fiend, until I found out that I have coeliac disease (January 2013). In fact my desire to eat dessert was the catalyst for me learning to cook and bake just over a year ago. Before that I could just about fry an egg, but that was even pushing it!

My all-time favourite cake was always the Lemon Drizzle Cake from Avoca. Someone brought it to our house years ago and I fell in love. Anyway I thought that my lemon drizzle cake days were over, until I tried the one from Antoinette's... It's lemony, moist and spongey (just like the Avoca one always was). Anyone who thinks that gluten-free desserts are destined to be inferior in texture needs to try this cake, because it had the perfect cake crumb.
Along with a slice of lemon drizzle cake, we also bought a slice of fruitcake and two almond & lemon cookies. If you like fruitcake, then you will enjoy this fruitcake! I've never been a fan of it (I don't like raisins), but my mom liked it.
The cookies were nothing special (especially compared to the lemon drizzle cake). I thought they were a bit too soft.
I will be going back to sample more goods from Antoinette's soon!
